Starting off again with Andy Shephard letting us know what we are in for tonight.
We are getting the story of Kay Lee Ray, Piper Niven and Toni Storm.
TONI STORM VS. JINNY – NXT UK WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH – APRIL 12, 2019
I am not going to argue getting a match with Jinny especially one against Toni Storm.
The mat wrestling skills of the ladies in the UK put every other women’s division to shame, in my opinion.
Great back and forth stretches.
Bad spot where Toni went for the diving cannon ball after Jinny had already moved out of the corner.
Nice that they even mentioned Kay Lee Ray’s debut earlier even if they didn’t it show it yet in this episode.
Great selling by Jinny after the three suplexes by Toni Storm.
Loved the spot of the face plant coming out of the corner by Jinny into the pinfall only for Toni to get her foot to fall on the bottom rope.
Great match with Toni Storm hitting the Storm Zero then getting the pinfall victory to retain her title.
Off to the Download Festival to see the next chapter in the story with Piper Niven and Kay Lee Ray joining the fray.
RHEA RIPLEY VS. PIPER NIVEN – JULY 3, 2019
I miss Rhea as a Heel. I am hoping we see more of this version of Rhea in NXT now.
A lot of Black and Blue in that ring right now.
Nice job building the frustration of Rhea and putting Piper over by having her kick out at 1 after already taking a beating.
Some promotion is going to luck out getting Aiden English as an announcer if they so choose to pick him up in that role.
Seeing Rhea do the Cloverleaf on Piper Niven is one heck of a sight to see.
Great spot with Rhea slapping Piper and it looking like it worked but then having her not moving when Rhea tries to throw her into the ropes.
Piper gets the Pinfall Victory in what may have been Rhea’s swan song in NXT UK before going to NXT full time.
Cut to the clip of Kay Lee Ray winning the battle royal and now taking it to Toni Storm.
Kay Lee Ray is with out a doubt in my opinion the best heel in NXT UK. Wish they had showed the match with Kay Lee Ray winning the Championship.
Back and showing more of the background with the three and their original friendship. Seems to be the same pieces they aired leading up to the triple threat match.
KAY LEE RAY VS. PIPER NIVEN VS. TONI STORM – NXT UK WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH – NXT TAKEOVER BLACKPOOL II
Interesting to hear that Kay Lee Ray actually had surgery and great to see her use that as a character building moment.
Match is still fresh in my mind so should be interesting to see if I notice anything new this watch through.
Great selling by Toni Storm after the Senton by Piper Niven.
That was one stiff looking super kick by Kay Lee Ray on Piper Niven.
Kay Lee Ray continues to show why she is also the smartest character in wrestling today.
Great to hear from Piper over saving Toni Storm from the Pillmanizing spot then to hear from Toni right after about not using the chair on Piper. Great way to explain the shift in match at that point and go over what was told without words in the ring already.
Still love that spot with Toni Storm stopping the ref from counting the three count instead of trying to break the count.
Love hearing that the crowd reaction against Kay Lee Ray was what drove her to win it knowing everyone was against her.
Kay Lee Ray gets the pinfall after pinning Piper Niven after Toni Storm hits the frog splash on Piper.
