We open with an interview with Magnum TA and Ric Flair about Magnum now having a title shot at Flair eventually.
Flair says to watch him in about 15 or 20 minutes.
PHILLIP STRICKLAND & RANDY BARBER VS. THE RUSSIANS (IVAN & NIKITA KOLOFF)
Like last week we have the crowd singing the American Anthem to get under the skin of Ivan and Nikita.
Remember when the story background of wrestlers could be complete bull because fans didn’t have the internet to fact check? Nikita apparently was a track star in USSR and was going to be in the Olympics until Ivan brought him to America to be a Pro Wrestler.
After a dominating match, Nikita locks in the Cobra and gets the Knock Out Submission.
Over to the podium with JJ Dillion and Buddy Landell being interviewed by Tony.
JJ said Nature Boy was turned around because they had complaints last week of daughters fainting all over america because of his looks.
Buddy turns around after they give time for the women to leave the room at home. He says that he is going to take out everyone in the way between him and Ric Flair until he takes out Ric Flair and replaces him.
DICK SLATER VS. THE GOLDEN TERROR
Slater doing a lot of mat wrestling having complete control of Golden Terror.
Almost a blink and you miss it match with Slater getting the pinfall after a double underhook suplex.
Tony is not interviewing Tully Blanchard, Baby Doll and the Television Championship.
Tully is thankfully able to talk over the annoying crowd. He is cutting a promo on Dusty and he finally does acknowledge the annoying crowd members and keeps his cool the entire time. Great stuff and why Tully is a great.
Anniversary shout out time.
PAUL GARNER VS. BLACK BART
No more JJ Dillion with Black Bart it seems. Guess they have split him and Ron Bass.
Garner trying to get out of a hold with strikes to Black Bart but one strike from Bart stops Garner.
Bart is spending the match working the arm over of Garner.
After a leg drop from the second turnbuckle, Black Bart gets the pinfall victory.
After a commercial we have Dusty Rhodes being interviewed at the Podium by Tony. He is talking about Ric Flair’s comments earlier.
Dusty is also responding to Tully’s comments.
Rhodes also puts over Dick Slater in his appearance earlier.
Finally, Dusty is talking about getting the Tag Belts away from the Russians.
ROCKY KING VS. RON BASS W/ J.J. DILLION
Bass has the Black glove on of course which they mention on commentary. I wonder if sometime between this time and now if Tully stole the glove from Bass.
Rocky King doing his best to take it to Ron Bass but Bass is able to thwart any chance.
Two count for Ron Bass on Rocky King.
A couple strikes from Bass’ Black Glove hand puts him back in control after another flurry from King.
If the Claw is so effective, why would you not put it on as soon as you can.
Bass puts the claw on and is able to pin Rocky King to the mat for the victory.
Post match the usual heel can’t get the hold off.
MIKE NICHOLS VS. TULLY BLANCHARD W/ BABY DOLL – NWA WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Tully is still shaking the hand of his opponent at the beginning of the matches.
He offered the handshake again after a minute and gave a left hand to Nichols again.
Tully is able to get a pinfall without hitting his slingshot suplex so after the match he hits the move on Nichols anyways.
Black Bart is out next to speak his mind at the podium with Tony.
Bart said that no name around the NWA matters to him except Ronny Garvin. Says he challenged him two weeks ago and has heard nothing.
SAM HOUSTON VS. RIC FLAIR
Magnum TA is with the commentary team for this match and Ric is talking trash about the guy he is in the ring with.
Ric is taking his time getting his robe and the Ten Pounds of Gold off.
Flair keeps yelling at David Crockett to bring him some real competition on World Championship Wrestling.
In the middle of the match, Ric Flair leaves the ring to confront everyone at the Podium.
Ric’s composure completely changes the minute Sam Houston is able to get some offense in.
Time for the hour break with Sam Houston in control.
Back from the break and Ric Flair is back in control of the match.
Flair does a cheap slap to Houston before pushing Tommy Young leading to Sam Houston firing up and taking it to Flair.
Houston is able to actually send Flair to the mat with punches and even send Flair to the outside in Vintage Flair fashion.
Sam Houston is being made to look good in all his matches. He got a two count pin against Flair.
Flair able to get the advantage back but not able to put Houston away getting only a couple two counts.
Flair takes Houston’s knee to the ring post and now that he has total control and just adding a lot of punishment to the leg before finally locking in the Figure Four. Ric gets the Submission win but won’t let the hold go even pushing Tommy Young away.
Post Match Ric Flair continues to attack Sam and keep the Figure Four on until Magnum TA enters the ring and forces the hold to break.
Flair pushes Magnum but Magnum TA just gets right back in his face. Flair backs away but it just continues.
Jimmy Valiant joins Tony at the Podium while Magnum and Flair are cooling off. He wants to thank everyone for their encouragement as he recovers.
Jimmy is continuing the never ending feud with Paul Jones.
RON ROSSIE VS. ABDULLAH THE BUTCHER W/ PAUL JONES
Adbullah just takes it right to Rossie and is not phased by any offense laid on him by Rossie.
After a spot where Butcher wouldn’t let Rossie in the ring he finally hits the running elbow drop into the pinfall for the easy victory.
Dick Slater is with Dusty Rhodes and based on what he says, sounds like he was the Gorilla. Yeah he just said he got a rash from being in the suit for so long.
They are pushing a match for the Tag Belts with the Russians.
Back from Commercial we are hearing from Ivan and Nikita about the challenges to them. They’re responding to Slater and Rhodes.
CARL STILES VS. MAGNUM TA
Let’s see if the fans start counting for how long this match lasts like his last match on the show. Nope.
Looks like Magnum is taking out his frustration with Ric Flair on Carl.
Belly to Belly from Magnum TA and he gets the pinfall victory in his usual quick fashion.
Back for another interview with the NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Ric Flair. He is threatening Magnum TA to not get in his business again.
Ric is not talking about Dusty’s comments earlier.
Great Ric Flair promo. Typical one that you think when you think of Good Flair promos.
Flair even has words for Buddy Landell saying he needs to buy his clothes somewhere other than K Mart.
Buddy Landell is apparently in the ring for the next match while Flair is cutting this promo.
DALE WILLIAMS VS. BUDDY LANDELL W/ J.J. DILLION
All Buddy Landell in the match obviously just looking to get over.
Stiff forearm from Buddy Landell on Williams.
Buddy is yelling for Flair to come back out to the ringside again to watch what he is doing.
Lots of rest holds as Landell is working over the arm of Williams in various ways while getting in a few power moves.
Figure Four from Buddy Landell leads to the submission win.
Another Magnum TA interview with Tony at the podium to go over the events today and what Flair said earlier.
Black Bart is back once again at the Podium. This time he is talking about a few of the others, mostly the top faces.
He once again cuts a promo on Garvin and the National Championship.
JIMMY DILL VS. JIMMY VALIANT
Match starts once Jimmy gets in the ring after interacting with all the fans in the crowd at ringside.
Valiant is showing off moves saying it is all for Jones. He is yelling for Jones to come on out to ringside.
Jones is at ringside watching Valiant but is alone without his crew.
Apparently the fans were chanting Paula at Paul Jones.
Jimmy Valiant keeps telling Jones to get in the ring while giving him an almost Death or Crazed stare.
Valiant hits the elbow and gets the pinfall victory.
Post Match he goes to the outside to try and confront Valiant.
Tony is not going to interview Paul Jones. Jones is saying Tully has paid him for Abdullah’s services to take out Dusty Rhodes.
Ivan Koloff is out now to interrupt the program to speak his mind before the next match starts. We are going to get Nikita competing instead in a Handicap match.
MARK COOPER & GERALD FINDLAY VS. NIKITA KOLOFF
It’s just a massive squash as Nikita shows off his skills to push that the Russians want the singles gold too.
Nikita hits a double clothesline on both men when they tried to double team him and he pins both men for the victory.
