Got to start off letting us know who advanced in the Dusty Classic last week while reminding us the Women’s Dusty Classic starts tonight as well as the Fight Pit match build.
KUSHIDA & LEON RUFF VS. THE WAY (AUSTIN THEORY & JOHNNY GARGANO) – DUSTY RHODES TAG TEAM CLASSIC FIRST ROUND MATCH
Before the match started we see Beth Phoenix is at the broadcast booth with the boys.
Leon Ruff and Austin Theory are great people to be in the ring against for each with their history in Evolve and the indies.
Starting to like the No Look High Five from Theory and Gargano more each week.
Great catch from Theory converting it into a spinning sitout powerbomb on Ruff for the pinfall attempt but only a two before we head to a commercial break.
Good spot with Theory getting cocky blocking off Ruff from Kushida to have Ruff get away from him but Kushida is taken out by Gargano just at the right time.
Beautiful flying cutter off the second turnbuckle to Theory after faking out Theory.
Kind of bad spot from Kushida as he holds on to Gargano for too long after Theory “breaks” up the arm bar.
Gargano counters Kushida into a roll up but only a two count as Kushida then is able to fire up and get a bridging pin on Gargano to bust my whole tournament.
Video promo from Pete Dunne about how he built an entire brand and people still dare compare him to Finn Balor. He tells Finn that Balor is just taking part in his legacy.
We hear that Kyle O’Reilly has been cleared medically to return after his match with Finn.

Malcolm Bivens is outside William Regal’s office with Rust to get Regal some opportunities. Rust went in on his own without Bivens, apparently, and ends up having to wrestle Bronson Reed tonight.
KARRION KROSS W/ SCARLETT VS. ASHANTE ADONIS W/ DESMOND TROY
What the heck is Scarlett wearing on her head tonight?
Karrion Kross is looking to destroy Adonis as he is holding his neck with the ref asking if he wants to end it.
Kross says times up and hits him in the neck from behind and gets the pinfall victory with ease.
Post match, Kross locks Desmond Tory while he is checking on Ashante.
Time to hear from MSK, the FKA Rascalz. Looks like they are still stoners. We are hearing from people like Ember Moon about how good MSK are.
Mercedes Martinez and Toni Storm are letting us know that they are not friends, just two people with a common interest in winning the Dusty Classic.
IMPERIUM (MARCEL BARTHEL & FABIAN AICHNER) VS. LUCHA HOUSE PARTY (GRAN METALIK & LINCE DORADO) – DUSTY RHODES TAG TEAM CLASSIC FIRST ROUND MATCH
Poor Lucha House Party not getting an entrance in this one as they are already in the ring when Imperium come out.
Lucha House Party getting in so much offense on Imperium I thought I may be watching 205 Live.
A lot of your typical offense from Lucha House Party here that Imperium is able to sell but still some spots that did not look the greatest.
Nice spot with Metalik drop kicking AIchner who had Lince leading to an almost destroyer type move from Lince on Aichner.
Barthel from behind with a rollup but Lince able to kick out and hit a superkick and hitting a shooting star press to get the pinfall victory over Barthel. Shocked.
Post match, Alexander Wolfe is on the stage to the surprise of EVERYONE as he was in NXT UK as far as we knew.
Backstage, earlier today, for the weight in for Fight Pit tonight. Really trying to steal from AEW, aren’t they?
It of course breaks down and both men are held apart and told to wait for the main event.
MERCEDES MARTINEZ & TONI STORM VS. KACY CATANZARO & KAYDEN CARTER – WOMEN’S DUSTY RHODES TAG TEAM CLASSIC QUARTER-FINAL MATCH
Beth Phoenix is the Women’s Legend to give some credence to the tournament as it starts out. SHe goes over the women who have been in NXT that are now on the main roster.
All the women are are are on the stage as we are introduced to the four in the first match right now.
Kazy Catanzaro has come a long way to where she is almost not just the American Ninja Warrior girl anymore.
Kacy able to finally able to counter with a rana off the top turnbuckle but Mercedes able to get the tag in first. Kacy then avoids Toni to get the hot tag to Kayden Carter.
Great spinning move over the top rope to the outside by Kacy on Mercedes.
Io SHirai attacks Mercedes without the referee seeing anything and Toni Storm is now all alone.
I don’t know if it was meant to look like that but that was an amazing Spiral Tap looking move from Kacy Catanzaro to get the pinfall victory and advance to the semi finals.
Finn Balor is headed to William Regal’s office to talk about Pete Dunne but wants Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch.
William Regal says to find a partner and he can have the match but can’t have it on his own. He implies to basically ask Kyle O’Reilly.
Isaiah Scott stops Bronson Reed on his way to his ring to apparently give him some advice for some reason.
Ciampa is now getting final instructions before the main event Fight Pit tonight.
Now we are hearing that Ashante won’t be able to compete on Friday before Kayden and Kacy come in celebrating saying the are going to win the whole thing.
TYLER RUST W/ MALCOLM BIVENS VS. BRONSON REED
We now get to hear what Swerve said to Bronson Reed before the commercial since we couldn’t hear the first time. Swerve tells Reed not to get in his business again.
Nice story work with Bivens putting his hand out for Rust to pump him up to go in the ring. Granted he gets destroyed only to come back for another pump up telling him to outsmart Reed.
Backstage we see Io Shirai and Toni Storm being held apart while this match is going on.
Glad to see that this is not an all out squash when Tsunami is finally hit by Reed to get the pinfall victory.
Post match, Bivens is not looking the happiest on the outside over the loss.
Bivens tells Rust to let him pick his battles from now on before he continues to build him up.
Thatcher is now getting his final instructions from the Parler referee.
Finn is now walking in to the Undisputed Era dressing room looking for his partner and just asks Kyle if he is in?
Roderick isn’t happy how Finn asks but Cole calms him down so Kyle can say he is in.
Santos Escobar has a mic on the stage area telling us that a real champion does what he wants when he wants. He calls himself the real champion but we know that is a lie.
Escobar drops the name of Karrion Kross saying he can’t even make it to the first title defense.
Escobar talks about how he has sent everyone packing that has been put in front of him before talking about Raul and Joaquin are on their journey to be the Tag Team Champions.
Before Escobar can finish, the Lucha House Party music hits and they come out for a brawl with Legado Del Fantasma.
Curt Stallion come out to even the odds and send Legado Del Fantasma packing this time.
Dain and Maverick are now being interviewed about their next match against MSK and Drake over states his relationship with Dain.
Dain says it was a good promo and just walks off saying he will see Maverick next week.
Interesting to have the Fight Pit set up in the arena with the Ring in there as well.
Curt Stallion is being interviewed with Lucha House Party but Legado Del Fantasma come in quickly with Santos saying the match is on with Curt next week.
TOMMASO CIAMPA VS. TIMOTHY THATCHER – FIGHT PIT MATCH
Looking like Ciampa is starting to grow is hair out, is he just tired of shaving his head all the time?
They are starting out on the perch above the ring as Ciampa is stalking Thatcher until Thatcher runs at Ciampa.
Ciampa is trying to throw Thatcher over the railing to go to the floor and not the ring.
We are not even in the pit yet. Should they rename this to Fight Around a Pit?
Back from the first commercial break and they are finally in the pit with apparently a camera person directly in there with them.
Low Blow from Ciampa which Beth Phoenix is apparently completely okay with but when Gargano and Theory did something completely legal but unethical earlier she had an issue with it. This is one of my issues with some commentators nowadays.
Great spot with Ciampa smashing the head of Thatcher against the Cage connecting spot and then the Fairy Tale Ending but Thatcher breaks up the follow up sleeper and takes advantage.
Thatcher makes Ciampa tap out after sticking one of Ciampa’s leg in the corner opening before putting on a hold on the other leg.
Post match, Thatcher comes over to Ciampa who is holding his leg in the corner and they stare each other down as the show ends.
