Another week of Ring of Honor Wrestling.
JOE KEYS VS. JONATHAN GRESHAM – ROH PURE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Joe Keys cuts a passionate promo about his original trainer whom recently passed away from cancer and what it would mean to him to become PURE champion. Great stuff from Joe here.
Jonathan Gresham whom has been training Joe Key’s recently, is ready to show Joe what it takes to be a part of the foundation of Ring of Honor! Should be a great contest.
As expected, Gresham controls Joe on the mat and Joe uses his first rope break quickly. No damage done to Joe though.
Joe gets a waist lock and carries Gresham to the ropes forcing him to use a rope-break himself. Fun little spot to even up the rope-breaks.
Upon return from break both men aren’t giving an inch and we have a slug fest in the middle of the ring. Gresham gets the advantage with perhaps the most vicious arm drag take down in recent memory.
Joe shows off his power landing a dead lift suplex and dead lift German suplex. Both of which get a near fall. Joe’s confidence looks to be growing!
Keys locks in a single-leg crab and Gresham is forced to use his 2nd rope-break.
Quickly Gresham uses his 3rd and final rope-break after being on the receiving end of a diving headbutt and pinning combination from Keys! Gresham is in serious danger here!
Gresham seemingly out of nowhere is able to land a hip-toss, hammer-lock combination. Joe Keys immediately taps-out!
WINNER: ROH PURE Champion – Johnathan Gresham (SUBMISSION)
We get a promo from DanHausen which is exactly what you would expect from a character like DanHausen.
Brian Johnson delivers an outstanding promo surrounding his disgust with DanHausen and the internet wrestling community. Great stuff.
They will square off on Honor Club and Youtube FEB 3.
THE OGK (MATT TAVEN & MIKE BENNETT) VS. THE BOUNCERS (BRAWLER MILONAS & BEER CITY BRUISER)
Mike Bennett is coming into this one with an injured ankle thanks to Vincent.
OGK hits a double drop-kick which sends Milonas to the outside.
The Bouncers hit a nice kick/slam combination move on Taven for a near-fall.
OGK attempt to double-team Milonas, but Bennett’s ankle gives-out and he’s in serious trouble.
The Bouncers attempt to isolate and ground Bennett. Mike dives to his corner and hits Matt with a hot-tag.
Huge suicide-dive and frog-splash by Taven gets a near-fall.
Brawler is able to hit Taven with the “Brawler Slam”. Bennett saves the match for OGK.
Milonas hits a super-plex on Taven from the top-rope but Bruiser misses the big-splash!
Taven locks in his “Trend Setter” submission on Bruiser. Bruiser taps out and this one is over!
WINNER: The OGK (SUBMISSION)
After the match, the Bouncers are ready to have a couple of “pops” with their buddies Taven and Bennett, but Vincent spoils the party.
Vincent gets in Bruisers head and causes Bruiser to smash a bottle over the head of Matt Taven to close the show.
