Aerostar and Daga are talking in Spanish backstage they are going to take on Aussie Open for the Tag Team Championships. I love it when people cut promos in their native tongue.
Jim is all tired on Day Three and doesn’t delay the open long.
They bring down one of the crew and make fun of him for looking like Dustin Rhodes and he walks back.
They have someone’s lost ATM card and sadly they are not in the room tonight to get it back.
A guy proposes to his girlfriend which she seems mortified about but says yes since she is on at least her first pint.
ROY JOHNSON vs. DJZ VS. ARTEMIS SPENCER VS. CHRIS BROOKES VS. THE O.J.M.O VS. DARBY ALLIN VS. CONNOR MILLS VS. LUCKY KID VS. CHRIS RIDGEWAY – WASTEMAN CHALLENGE HANGOVER SCRAMBLE MATCH
Have no idea what the Hangover Scramble Match but apparently it is a regular thing.
Roy Johnson is first man to come out for the match. Roy wants the microphone from Jim but he doesn’t see Roy wants it. Johnson cuts a promo reminding everyone who he is.
Apparently the match is called a Wasteman Challenge and it is his open challenge match.
We hear the blowhorn or rave horn or what ever it is called and DJZ is answering the challenge.
Artemis Spencer’s Music hits and he is coming out next so I am assuming this is a multi man match.
Chris Brookes is the next man out making that four competitors so far.
Johnson looks ready to talk again before some music hits and The O.J.M.O. comes out.
And we have yet another competitor as Darby Allin makes his way to the ring. So this is basically you lost in the tournament and we have nothing for you after day 2 match.
Here comes yet another competitor and it is Connor Mills who I do not recognize.
Our EIGHT Competitor is Lucky Kid. How many more are we going to get? At least nine as Chris Ridgeway comes out next.
Let’s make it an even ten? Trevor Lee is next to come out and join the crowd in the ring but not before his prematch victory lap around the outside.
Looks like the match is about to begin as Johnson is asking who is first. O.J.M.O. grabs the mic and says he is challenging Johnson. Wait, is this a rap challenge?
DJZ is grabbing the mic next and yup cutting a rap about the others. Trevor Lee grabs the mic next and is getting no help from the crowd who chant Choke as he says nothing and leaves the ring.
Chris Brookes is offered the mic next but before he says anything, Kid Lykos comes from the back with his own microphone. Brookes hits Johnson with a baking tray from behind and the Match part has begun.
Trevor Lee asks for the DJ while DJ Z is in the ring with him and gets a duck sound instead.
Terrible spot from Spencer to Johnson coming off the top turnbuckle where it looks like Artemis just falls down.
We end up having what can only be described as a Human Centipede Where O.J.M.O. does the Single Leg Crab at one end with everyone else connected via a head scissor.
Did DJZ seriously hit a Spanish Fly to Spencer who was on the otherside of the ropes and then on to the wrestlers on the outside?
A lot of multi person spots in this one like you get in the Money In The Bank matches without the weapons and ladders.
Loved the cutter from off the turnbuckle to DJZ while trying to hit the spot from Day 2 where Spencer and Brookes uses the middle rope to slingshot him.
Brookes gets the pinfall victory on Mills in this insane way to start the show.
JORDAN DEVLIN VS. KYLE O’REILLY – SUPER STRONG STYLE 16 SEMI FINAL MATCH
This match has the makings of being a classic and with both being WWE guys, either could go over here.
Just as much chain wrestling to start the match as one would expect from these two.
Sick palm strikes from O’Reilly to Devlin before taunting him to return something which Devlin does with pleasure. Nice back and forth with a slap from Kyle even.
Love the repeated shots from Devlin to Kyle with the referee having to pull him off. Great to see the counter by Devlin to Kyle’s Counter with Jordan able to hit the slingshot cutter.
Amazing counter to O’Reilly’s momentum clothesline from the ropes by hitting the standing Spanish Fly.
Jordan Devlin’s knee/leg/ankle gives way coming off the top and Kyle instantly locks on his knee bar but Devlin is able to fight to the bottom rope.
The crowd have turned on Kyle as he focuses on the leg of Devlin and cheer when Devlin kicks out at one and starts to hulk up.
Kyle O’Reilly counters the Air Jordan from Devlin trying to lock on the arm bar but Devlin fights it off so Kyle goes for the knee bar again.
Jordan counters by going back on Kyle and putting him in a package type pin to get the pinfall victory and advance to the final.
Post match, Kyle is upset at the loss but eventually shows respect to Devlin with a handshake.
JIMMY HAVOC VS. PAUL ROBINSON – DEATH MATCH
Really been enjoying the work of Paul Robinson but not sure how much of this one I will be able to watch as I am not a huge fan of this style of match.
They are just looking for anything and everything to use on themselves while the commentators talk about Havoc’s history in the company.
I hate light tubes in matches but even the spear INTO one was insane.
I think the unprotected headshots from Robinson to Havoc were the hardest things to watch. It’s a good thing that we are trained like that now.
Curbstomp on lighttubes by Robinson to Havok lets him get the pinfall victory as Havok does the job on his way out.
Post match, Robinson leaves the ring as Havok gets his moment in the ring for the fans to say good bye.
Jim gets in the ring with a microphone to say good bye and wish him well and send to a video package highlighting Jimmy’s time in Progress.
AEROSTAR & DAGA VS. AUSSIE OPEN (MARK DAVIS & KYLE FLETCHER) – PROGRESS TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
I know it is because they are big in Mexico and they are trying to use the same talent across the shows but why are two guys who have one win between them this weekend are getting a Tag Team Title shot?
Mark Davis has had to have had the best weekend getting to be seen on every night but this is his first match of the weekend.
Show of respect from both teams to start the match by exchanging hand shakes.
Mark Davis doing some dance moves after countering Aerostar’s hold. Aerostar shows off with his flips around the ring leading to Davis just decking Aerostar.
Sadly doesn’t look like the Tag Rope rule is being used in this one. You know how those Lucha wrestlers have trouble understanding how to hold a rope.
This match has suffered from Aerostar and Daga being used to a different style and just unsure at times how to move to the next spot.
Davis hits the Cutter on Aerostar and gets the pinfall victory to retain the titles.
Post match, Aussie Rules offers the handshake out of respect before celebrating with their belts.
Flash Morgan Webster and Wild Boar attack the tag team champions staking their claim for the belts including taking them to the back with them.
Webster and Boar cutting a promo backstage explaining why they are taking the belts.
JORDYNNE GRACE VS. NINA SAMUELS VS. SESSION MOTH MARTINA VS. MILLIE MCKENZIE – PROGRESS WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP FATAL FOUR WAY MATCH
Millie McKenzie is a name I have heard a lot more of than matches of hers I’ve seen. Interested to see her in this one.
Was really impressed with Session Moth Martina in her match on Night Two against Jinny.
Jordynne Grace grabs the mic to say she is back after five months to defend the championship on UK soil. She apologies for not being here then says she is sorry for not caring what marks think and goes off on her name being spelled wrong by Progress.
Martina slaps Grace for calling her a joke and the match is on.
Grace pushed the referee into the ropes knocking Martina off the top and preventing Martina from hitting a move on her.
Took her almost a minute to get her balance but Martina is able to hit a senton on the group on the outside.
Grace is able to get in and pin Session Moth Martina after Millie McKenzie did all the work.
Post match, Grace holds up the belt while giving a middle finger to the other women and the fans.
JORDAN DEVLIN VS. DAVID STARR – SUPER STRONG STYLE 16 FINAL MATCH
Devlin coming out first showing off the slight limp to put over the toll the tournament has taken on him including the work Kyle did earlier.
How conceded does a wrestler look when they mouth along with their overly long entrance?
Crowd is so loud that not only can we have trouble hearing the announcers, the announcers are having trouble hearing each other.
Got a bad feeling at the result of this when the announcers mentioned Devlin has a 4-0 record against Starr in this match.
Devlin is starting to act as the heel in the match against Starr bringing out some boos.
Devlin is on the outside trying to get the feeling back in his leg after collapsing.
Devlin is heavily favouring his leg now and Starr is not letting him get any breathing room to recover.
Great spot with Devlin ducking the massive clothesline from Starr who then goes full force into the bottom two ropes and crumbles.
Starr sets up Devlin for a package piledriver off the top but Devlin turns it into a Spanish Fly off the top with Starr kicking out just before the three.
Can’t say I’ve seen someone block a right hand by headbutting the arm as it is coming at them.
Huge This Is Progress chant after Starr and Devlin have a flurry of signature moves.
Sick powerbomb to the knee of Starr to Devlin. Starr locks on a submission to get Devlin to submit and win the Super Strong Style 16.
Post match, Streamers pollute the ring as Devlin sits there upset and Starr celebrates.
Starr cuts a promo about being Independent then calling out Walter who left after his match the night before.
