IMPACT WRESTLING SOUNDOFF – FEBRUARY 23, 2021

Deaner and Jake Something take their personal family issues to a new level in a Tables Match.

Previously on Impact we are reminded how Fin Juice are now playing the role of the Motor City Machine Guns in the Tag Team Title feud. Don’t forget Moose destroyed Tommy in a hardcore match last week, as well.

DEANER VS. JAKE SOMETHING – TABLES MATCH
Starting strong with Deaner and Jake Something having their tables match, apparently to honour the end of Hardcore month on Impact Plus apparently.
Deaner comes flying at Jake Something right at the opening bell to start things off with some fast paced action. They slow it down into the Hardcore action pretty quickly though.
Deaner is trying to see how many ways he can run Jake’s head into a table without breaking it.
Can someone explain why Hebner, in kayfabe, had to be so close to Deaner and Jake Something during the match? How close does one have to be to know someone has gone through a table or not?
So glad to hear Striker point out that Jake Something hit a sitout powerbomb directly in front of an already set up table when he could have put Deaner through the table.
We’re up on the stage with Deaner telling Jake he chose wrong over and over. Deaner runs down at Jake Something who just hits a Black Hole Slam through a table to get the victory.
MATCH TIME 9:19
Post match, Moose out of nowhere spears Jake Something through a Table in the ring. He says he is holding the show hostage until he gets his World Title Shot.

Back from Commercial with Moose still in his ring saying he is still waiting for his Title match. You can see Jake being taken to the back.
Scott D’Amore has his own music and screen now as he comes out who tells him to get out of the ring. Swann is not even in the ring.
Jake Something is coming out pissed about it. Scott says Moose can have his World Title match. He says from now on the TNA World Heavyweight Title is officially recognized and he is defending it against Jake Something tonight. LOVE. IT.

TREY MIGUEL, JOSH ALEXANDER & WILLIE MACK VS. BLACK TAURUS, CHRIS BEY & ACE AUSTIN W/ MADMAN FULTON – 6 MAN TAG TEAM TRIPLE THREAT QUALIFYING MATCH
Steve and Rosemary do come out for Black Taurus’ entrance but leave immediately while Madman Fulton is at ringside for Ace Austin.
Bey and Trey are starting it off and showing off their skills before Ace Austin tags in but gets slapped in the face by Trey for being cocky.
The faces end up each getting a turn hitting a move on Ace Austin.
Willie Mack and Black Taurus are facing off and showing why the X Division ain’t no Cruiserweight Division.
Off to commercial with Taurus biting the head of Josh Alexander instead of going for a pin.
Back with Ace Austin taking it to Josh Alexander before tagging in Chris Bey to continue the beat down.
Beautiful looking variation of a Pendulum by Trey Miguel on Ace Austin.
Everyone has been taking out leaving Willie Mack and Ace Austin to battle in the ring with Black Taurus losing it outside wanting to interfere.
Willie Mack just landed NASTY on his neck/head after that running winging move by Ace Austin.
Art of Finesse out of no where by Chris Bey on Willie Mack to get the pinfall victory.
MATCH TIME: 13:14
Post match, the winners face off talking about how they will be facing next week.

Sami Callihan is waiting for Trey Miguel again getting in his head saying he is about to quit again because things aren’t going the way he wants.
Trey has finally had enough and attacks Sami Callihan and is pulled off by Security.

We are getting a video promo from Decay about being around for five years. Steve says we have been patient and now it is time to rejoice. The resurrection of the death dealers is now upon us.

We are getting another Paid Advertisement with a LOT more people this week.
Britt Baker is there to put her over match this week. Brian Cage and Ricky Starks talk about how the last time the Impact was important was when he was Champion.
This was actually very old school of how the promos used to get down on NWA World Championship Wrestling. Liked it.

Havok and Nevaeh are talking about their future backstage and Nevaeh says no she just needs time. Tenille and Kaleb then walk in saying they heard everything and try to get her to team up but Havok says she’s not interested.

XXXL (LARRY D & ACEY ROMERO) VS. THE GOOD BROTHERS (DOC GALLOWS & KARL ANDERSON)
I just realized Striker says Japanese names with the same over pronunciation like I do with Finnish and Filipino names and places.
Anyone else think with all the Wrestle House stories wrapped up that XXXL are going to fall back into the glorified jobber status?
Magic Killer on Larry D and Karl Anderson pins him to get the relatively easy pinfall victory.
MATCH TIME: 5:50
Post match, Good Brothers celebrate in their typical teenage boy way.

Off to Swingers Palace with Sabin and Storm winning but Rohit Raju comes in and takes the bust card making them all lose. Sabin stands up keeping the peace with Swinger apparently booking Rohit vs. Storm.

Fin Juice are backstage when Good Brothers walk in Scott Hall style. Fin Juice talk about how long it took Good Brothers to beat XXXL.

EDDIE EDWARDS VS. HERNANDEZ W/ BRIAN MYERS
Brian Myers is announced as the opponent but he comes out in his street gear and says he can’t wrestle tonight. Mark Sterling makes his debut in Impact as his lawyer.
Sterling says that because of the new contract of Brian Myers he can name any replacement when he is not medical cleared. Here comes Hernandez.
Myers is taking it to Eddie Edwards on the outside with the referee distracted.
Boston Knee Party off the second turnbuckle and Eddie Edwards picks up the quick pinfall victory.
MATCH TIME: 2:29
Post match, Brian Myers walks away to the back while Eddie tries to get him in the ring.

Matt Cardona tries to apologize for hitting the eye of Myers last week. Scott walks in saying that Sterling didn’t read it closely as it has to be the IMPACT doctor to do it.
Scott says Eddie vs. Myers next week in an Eye for an Eye match with Cardona as the referee. Scott says of course he is not serious, who would make an Eye for an Eye Match? PRICELESS.

KIMBER LEE & SUSAN W/ DEONNA PURRAZZO VS. JORDYNNE GRACE & JAZZ
Doesn’t take long for this to break down with ODB coming down to counter Deonna’s interference and the referee kicks ODB and Deonna out.
Back from commercial with Kimber Lee in control of Jazz in the center of the ring but we get back just in time for Jazz’s comeback.
Great thing about the Susan gimmick is that we know we are not near the finish until her Jacket comes off.
Did it not look more like Jazz slapped the face of Kimber Lee and not that they hit heads?
Jordynne Grace gets the hot tag and is taking it to Susan but Kimber Lee is able to break it up.
The double team from Jordynne Grace and Jazz was just more evidence that Jazz seems confused almost at all times in the ring nowadays.
Why would the referee stop Jazz when Kimber Lee was in the ring far sooner than Jazz ever was?
Grace Driver from Jordynne on Susan and she gets the pinfall victory but this is far from over.
MATCH TIME: 12:48
Post match, Jazz and Jordynne are coming backstage and see ODB is attacked backstage and call for help. They are blaming Deonna Purrazzo.

MOOSE VS. JAKE SOMETHING – TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Great way to open by having Moose come out first and Jake Something take out Moose while in his spotlight to stand in that spotlight himself.
They are brawling around the ring before the match officially starts and we head to a commercial. So great to say we are getting an official TNA World Heavyweight Championship match.
Back from commercial and they are still fighting on the outside so the match has yet to start until Jake sends Moose in to the ring. Here we go, officially, now.
Moose doesn’t care how he wins and retains his Championship telling the referee to count Jake Something out, even though it was only a four count before Jake gets back in.
Jake Something gets a two count after Moose got rocked from a headbutt.
Nice spot with Moose kipping up at the 8 Count but Jake Something hits him with a pop up powerbomb. Only a two count though as they are really making you feel Jake has a chance.
Two Uranagi’s from Moose before a ripcord lariat then hits the Moose to put away Jake Something and get his OFFICIAL first World Title defense.
MATCH TIME: 6:54
Post match, Moose starts beating down Jake Something and apparently Scott was lying as Rich Swann comes out.
Scott comes out saying enough is enough, we’ve gone around too many times and Moose vs. Swann for the IMPACT World Title at Sacrifice.
