A little late this week but back for some Ring of Honor action.
LA FACCION INGOBERNABLE (DRAGON LEE & KENNY KING) W/ AMY ROSE VS. THE BRISCOES (MARK & JAY BRISCOE) ROH TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP #1 CONTENDERS MATCH
It’s been a minute since we’ve seen Kenny King on ROH TV.
La Faccion Ingobernable just oozing charisma heading to the ring for their contest with brothers Jay and Marc.
Dem Boys looking dangerous as usual. This one should be fun!
Kenny King looks to control Marc early with a side headlock. Marc has other ideas and grabs the upper jaw of Kenny and begins to pry upward!
Kenny screams in agony as the ref counts approaches five. Classic Marc Briscoe!
Jay and Dragon are ready and join in on all the fun and get the tag from their partners.
Lee scores first lighting Jay up in the corner with a huge open hand chop and frankensteiner.
Marc is back in there but is quickly isolated and double teamed by Lee and King.
King falls pray to a Jay Briscoe blind tag. Jay thunders Kenny into the barricade and Marc lands his running elbow from the apron as we head to break.
Upon return, we have Kenny and Marc going toe to toe in the centre of the ring. Both men tag their partner after a double clothesline.
This one’s breaking down into an utter brawl! Both guys landing significant strikes.
Dragon hits a nasty looking double under-hook neck breaker. Jay answers back with a spicolli driver.
Kenny and Dragon send Marc to the outside. Lee hits the double-stomp on Jay from the tree of woe position.
Lee then follows it up with a summersault onto Marc from inside to outside!
King hits a back suplex and Dragon lands his double-stomp for a near-fall!
King grapevine Jay’s legs and torques back! Marc breaks up the submission by landing his “Froggy elbow” off the top!
Dragon looks to send Marc to the outside with a frankensteiner, but Marc powerbombs Lee on the apron! Sick thud!
Jay delivers a neckbreaker onto King and the Briscoes are looking for the finish!
Flip Gordon appears from nowhere to land a kick to Mark perched on the top rope!
Kenny rolls up Jay and victory has been stolen from the Briscoe’s.
WINNERS: Dragon Lee and & Kenny King – PINFALL – (Will face Gresham and Lethal for the tag titles next week)
EC3 Returns! Prior to the Briscoes leaving ringside, the returning EC3 appears in the entrance way.
Between his tan, haircut and even his voice, I’m getting quite the Randy Boreton vibe from him.
EC3 does his typical cryptic promo attempting to bait Jay Briscoe into abandoning his Ring of Honor championship aspirations. I suspect it worked.
BATEMAN W/ VITA VONSTAR VS. MIKE BENNETT
One thing we can count on is OGK and the Righteous going at it!
Mike Bennett looks like a million bucks heading into this contest with Bateman.
Bennett explodes out of the corner and lands a huge spear on Bateman to kick things off!
Mike continues to batter Bateman until Bateman powders out for a breather.
Bennett doesn’t waste much time to join Bateman on the outside for a slug fest.
Vita distracts Bennett on the outside allowing Bateman to gain the advantage.
Bateman removes the ring skirt to reveal it’s steel structure. Bateman then slingshots Bennett causing his throat to impact the steel! Really creative spot!
Bennett turns the tide with a super-kick followed by a discus clothesline for a near-fall.
Both men not giving an inch as they continue to slug it out in the centre of the ring. Both guys land forearms to send each other to the mat.
Bateman recovers first and lands a brainbuster for a near-fall.
Bennett shows his heart and hits a desperation spear and follows it up with a piledriver! Bennett covers Bateman for 3 and that’s all she wrote!
WINNER: Mike Bennett (PINFALL)
After the match out comes Matt Taven to get some licks in on Bateman.
Taven grabs the mic and demands Vincent gives him the match he deserves.
Vincent appears on screen backstage. Vincent explains he is the man that can say “No” to Matt Taven and he’s doing just that!
Taven smashes Bateman’s ankle with a steel chair. Taven suggests more punishment is to come until “Balloon Boy” says “YES”
SHANE TAYLOR PROMOTIONS (SHANE TAYLOR, JASPER KAUN & MOSES MADDOX VS. MEXISQUAD (BANDITO, REY HORUS & FLAMITA) – ROH SIX MAN TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
We’ve been waiting since Final Battle for this 6 man tag title match and I’m excited!
Shane Taylor promotions immediately take the fight to the champions and the action is everywhere!
Things settle down and we have Kaun and Flamita squaring off. Flamita using his speed and quickness is able to get the better of Kaun.
Both men tag a fresh partner (Moses and Bandito). Moses hits a massive avalanche on Bandito and we heard it at home! Wow!
It’s now Taylor and Horus’turn. Shane scores with a flap-jack and tackle heading into break.
Upon return Horus counters some SOS tandem offence as both teams make a tag to their captains.
Bandito looks to hit a cork screw off the top-rope but Shane catches him, Amazing power! Bandito slips out the backdoor and makes a tag to Flamita!
Mexisquad hits a triple dive onto STP and the challengers are reeling!
Flamita gets all of a 450 splash off the top and Moses saves the match for STP!
Mexisquad hits a huge triple power bomb and Flamita is launched high in the sky to land a huge splash onto Kaun! Moses saves the match again!
The champions make a massive blunder looking to put away Shane Taylor. Horus accidently spikes Flamita with a DTD!
The door is open for Taylor who spikes Flamita with the Rikishi driver and you can count to a 100!
