Time to catch up on the finish of the tournament.
HIKARU SHIDA, MEI SURUGA & RIN KADOKURA VS. EMI SAKURA, VENY & MAKI ITOH – 6 WOMAN TAG TEAM MATCH
Can’t go wrong with a little Maki Itoh in our lives. We just need her on AEW as much as possible and as soon as possible.
So the three faces are all champions while the heels are not. Well Maki is the champion of AEW fans hearts.
Faces offer handshakes to start the match but it is waved off by the heels and they attack and we have Hikaru Shida and Maki Itoh starting. Laughed at Maki Itoh doing the side drop.
That slap from Veny to Rin Kadokura was so loud they heard it across all of Japan.
Great flexibility from Mei with the Cattle Prod variation and getting back to her feet after Veny got to the rope.
Loved the double team with Maki Itoh and Emi Sakura with Maki hitting her diving side drop to Mei after a weird spot of Maki singing and Emi rolling Mei around the ring.
Maki is the star of this match and this whole tournament. Her crazy side is just amazing when it comes out of no where but shows SO MUCH personality.
Great spot showing the teacher student relationship where Emi Sakura and Hikaru Shida fight off Mei and Veny exactly the same before going back after each other.
Were those Finger Flicks of Doom by Mei and Hikaru to Emi?
Some of these pin breaks are TERRIBLE, we have to say it, some of these are the ref holding his hand for a full second before the break or kick out actually happens.
Nice Liger Bomb from Veny but Shida is able to kick out before the three count.
Falcon Arrow from Hikaru Shida on Veny but Veny was able to kick out to the shock of everyone.
Running Knee Strike from Shida finally puts Veny away and the faces get the pinfall victory after a really fun match.
Post match, Emi Sakura attacks Hikaru Shida and the teams start to brawl before the heels get sent out. Emi ends up putting the boots to Maki Itoh she is so upset with the loss.
YUKA SAKAZAKI VS. RYU MIZUNAMI – AEW WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ELIMINATOR TOURNAMENT JAPAN FINAL MATCH
Sign of respect with the handshake but Ryu literally squeezes the life out of the hand of Yuka and she sells it perfectly.
Have to love Yuka slapping both her hands after doing the eye poke to Ryu.
Love the booking of this one with the small but fast Yuka against the slow but heavy hitting Ryu.
Love that Tazz commented on Ryu smashing her free foot against the mat while in the Calf Crusher by Yuka as it could look like a tap out.
Actually thought Yuka may have won during the Triangle Submission, if I hadn’t already seen the results of the show before getting to watch it.
Magical Girl Splash by Yuka Sakazaki but not enough to put Ryu away.
Spear from Ryu then a clothesline but still not enough get the pinfall victory on Yuka Sakazaki.
Sitout powerbomb from Ryu Mizunami gets the pinfall victory and advances to the Finals this Wednesday on Dynamite.
THUNDER ROSA VS. RIHO – AEW WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ELIMINATOR TOURNAMENT USA SEMI FINAL MATCH
Sign of respect from both competitors to start the match while Tazz and Excalibur explain how neither have been able to face each other as they were in different promotions in Japan.
Loved the Thunderstruck chant for Thunder Rosa. That needs to become a regular thing.
Great looking submission from Thunder Rosa bending Riho in half before slamming Riho hard on the mat. Only a two count from the pin attempt though.
Still not a fan of the double foot stomp in the corner spot. Why not just let go and let the person miss you?
Rosa is able to roll through and cradle Riho to get the pinfall victory and advance to face Nyla Rose.
Post match, Thunder Rosa bows to Riho in respect before leaving the ring.
LEVA BATES VS. MADI WRENKOWSKI
Madi Wrenkowski getting dirty and threw one of Leva Bates books at her to start this off. Leva was not impacted in the slightest by it.
This match is not even a glorified Dark match as it is being billed as an actual Dark match.
Madi starts ripping pages out of the Young Bucks book which really fires up Leva Bates.
Madi uses one of the other books as the referee is getting rid of the Young Bucks book and she gets the pinfall victory.
Did not expect that victory for Madi since Leva got an actual entrance and Madi did not.
LEYLA HIRSCH VS. MIRANDA ALIZE
Miranda’s shorts are so baggy it made me think it was the 90s again.
Terrible spot where Miranda hits Leyla with the knee. Leyla was running to the outside but was headed no where near where Miranda was.
Leyla Hirsch gets the submission victory with an armbar after countering a pinfall attempt by Miranda.
THUNDER ROSA VS. NYLA ROSE – AEW WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ELIMINATOR TOURNAMENT USA FINAL MATCH
So it appears that Thunder Rosa is a fan of the Golden State Warriors as her gear is themed like their jersey’s.
Nyla Rose is all business here as she is calling Thunder Rosa back in the ring the minute she gets to the ring.
Nyla may have hurt her head after Thunder Rosa did the body press to her on the outside. Not sure if it is kayfabe or not as no other checks were done to her.
Nasty looking landing from Nyla Rose after Rosa tripped her off the middle turnbuckle.
Thunder Rosa was hanging over the top rope for a long time while Nyla was going to the top. Surprised they still went through with the spot as it was not realistic that someone would be hung up that long.
Impressive Death Valley Driver from Thunder Rosa on Nyla Rose.
Beast Bomb from Nyla Rose and she gets the pinfall victory after a very competitive match. Nyla Rose is moving on to the overall finals against Ryu Mizunami on Dynamite.
