IMPACT WRESTLING SOUNDOFF – MARCH 16, 2021

Impact Wrestling and they're new Unified World Champion start the road towards Rebellion.

Seeing Black Taurus taking on Luster the Legend going at it on BTI before Impact starts. Just furthering the Reno Scum and Decay feud. Taurus gets the win.

Previously on Impact Wrestling… we see FinJuice beating Good Brothers for the Tag Titles at Sacrifice where Swann was the one to Unify the World Titles.

FINJUICE (DAVID FINLAY & JUICE ROBINSON) VS. XXXL (LARRY D & ACEY ROMERO)
No offense to XXXL but I am glad they made sure to state the titles are not on the line since XXXL haven’t really been on a run lately.
I think Impact really missed the boat not going with the Prison Changed Me Larry D character long term.
Great showing from Finlay against both members of XXXL after the hot tag. Showing how speed can counter power successfully.
Well that was quick. Acid Drop from David Finlay and he gets the pinfall victory.
MATCH TIME: 3:31
Post match, Good Brothers music hit almost immediately after the match and he they come to complain about their loss. They’re saying they’ve been so busy and the match shouldn’t have counted.
Good Brothers want a rematch and FinJuice say they can have it but will have to wait until they come back from Japan in April.

Video promo from Sami Callihan about Trey Miguel and their match tonight. Does Sami Callihan comes off as MJF without money?

Scott is hearing from The Good Brothers about FinJuice taking the belts to Japan and that the belts are coming back at Rebellion so the match is set for then.
Tommy Dreamer then comes in to bitch about no tag titles but talk what has to be done for promotion.
Scott says if Tommy thinks it is so easy, Hardcore Justice is the next special, he can book the card. Tommy apparently already had a card and gives it to him.

RHYNO W/ ERIC YOUNG, DEANER & JOE DOERING VS. JAKE SOMETHING W/ CHRIS SABIN & JAMES STORM
This is a nice twist with Rhyno and his call the shot trophy under the control of VBD with Heath unable to compete for now.
Doesn’t take long for Deaner to get up on the apron leading to a melee allowing Rhyno to hit the gore and pinfall victory.
MATCH TIME: 2:08
Post match, within seconds Violent By Design attack while EY directs the traffic.

Tenille Dashwood and Kaleb with a K are letting the other five know the team name will be Tenille and her followers.
Deonna argue with Fire N Flava over who should lead until they slowly come to agreement. Sadly they walk off before Tenille can deliver an inspirational quote.

ROHIT RAJU VS. SHERA
Rohit tries to start off with the advantage by jumping Shera but doesn’t take Shera long to take it back with one move.
Sick looking slam to Rohit where he came down HARD on his upper back. Hope it was just great selling by Rohit not moving for a moment after it.
Not sure how I feel about the actual even booking of this match even with Rohit being a recent X Division Champion. Shera should be pushing like Impact’s version of Wardlow.
Wow. With his feet on the ropes, Rohit gets the pinfall victory in yet another quick Impact match.
MATCH TIME: 4:40

Swann is backstage with both belts when Willie Mack comes in to congratulate Swann on the win. Swann says they can’t party right now as he has some business to handle.

Rich Swann on his way out to the ring now after the commercial to take care of the business he was talking about minutes ago.
Swann puts over Moose by saying they came out together and had one hell of one match. He says he respects Moose even if he doesn’t agree with a lot of the things Moose does.
Swann says Omega pinned him but now things come full circle so he can get his revenge on Omega for that pin.
Don Callis’ music hits and he comes out to respond on behalf of Omega but first he shakes Swann’s hand and hugs him.
Don Callis says he is a Swann Guy and was the one who fought for Impact to sign him. He made sure his family got paid every two weeks when he was injured and called him to check in.
Don says he has moved on from Swann to Omega because he is a better and shinier toy that he wants to play now.
Callis starts getting in to the head of Swann about how that loss against Omega at Hard To Kill is eating at him.
Callis calls Swann a Superstar but says Omega is a God and then says how he was there for everything that people said couldn’t happen.
Don says he has already written the history of what happens at Rebellion and leaves Swann alone in the ring who has a lost look in his eyes.

This week’s paid ad from TK to promote St. Patrick’s Day Slam. TK says he is all business tonight as he has Good Brothers taking on Moxley and Kingston as well as Former NWA Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa vs. Britt Baker.

Eddie Edwards and Matt Cardona are talking backstage when Myers of course shows up saying he is pissed because he wants to make it without Cardona.

FIRE N FLAVA (KIERA HOGAN & TASHA STEELZ), DEONNA PURRAZZO, KIMBER LEE, SUSAN & TENILLE DASHWOOD W/ KALEB WITH A K VS. ALISHA, JORDYNNE GRACE, ODB, JAZZ, NEVAEH & HAVOK – 12 KNOCKOUTS TAG TEAM MATCH
Am I the only one who thinks of Cody’s “The Bullet Club is Fine” when ever Nevaeh and Havok come out now?
Alisha wasting no time starting off against Tenille while the heels argue with Kaleb about who should instruct Tenille in the ring.
Hilarious selling from Kaleb with a K when ODB flashes him her trunks.
Great spot with everyone out on the outside in your typical multiperson spot with Grace and Tasha hitting Tope Suicida on to the rest of the competitors on the floor.
Thanks to the commercial break this match is now longer than the first three matches… COMBINED.
Why would Alisha think about who to tag and not just tag the closest person? If she wanted to go with the strongest in the end, just go with Grace without thinking about it.
Nice Stunner from Alisha to celebrate 3:16 Day and Steve Austin.
Everyone is now getting in their spots/finishers as one would expect in any match with 6 or more people in it.
STF from Jazz on Kimber Lee and she gets the submission victory for her team.
MATCH TIME: 14:18

Ace Austin with Madman Fulton is being interviewed by Gia Miller about being the new X Division Champion, the youngest Two Time Champion in Impact history.
Chris Bey then walks in about how Ace Austin lost last week to him stating he should get a shot but Josh Alexander walks in to say he beat had a win and should get a shot. Of Course, TJP walks in with Austin telling him to get to the back of the line.
TJP says he gets his rematch next week regardless of anything anyone else says.

SAMI CALLIHAN VS. TREY MIGUEL
I guess starting this early for the Main Event is likely why we had 3 really short matches this week.
Trey wastes no time and literally runs to the ring to get this started but doesn’t take long for Sami to get the advantage.
Back from commercial with Trey favouring his leg/knee while Sami is just slowly beating him down.
Sick looking spot with Trey kicking Sami into the corner with Sami appearing to whiplash with impact of the middle turnbuckle.
Sami wasn’t too hurt from that move as he puts Trey into a Boston Crab in the turnbuckles.
Another commercial break as one would expect when they start the match at the 9:30 mark.
Back from the final commercial break with Sami and Trey trading blows that Sami appears to get the advantage from until Trey hits a clothesline to Sami coming off the ropes.
Sami bites Trey’s ankle to stop Trey from locking on his submission. Smart move that other heels should do more often.
Sami starting with an STF before switching to a crossface but Trey still makes it to the bottom rope to break the holds. Really pushing the will he quit story with Trey here.
Interesting spot with Trey countering what ever Sami was thinking by running up the steel steps and using the bottom rope to hit a springboard stunner on Sami at ringside.
I thought they were going to do the double countout for a second there at the end.
Sami baits in the referee when Trey was up on the top to stop the move. Sami knocks Trey off the top and hits his package piledriver to get the pinfall victory.
MATCH TIME: 28:04
Post match, they are selling the damage a package piledriver does while Sami celebrates the win to end the show.
